City or village life dilemma
by greendawn inimagine that you have two options.
one is to live in a village peacefully close to nature in a pleasant close knit community with all basic necessities secured for life, a home, food, transport, heating etc but no opportunity to become rich.
the second is to live in an urban environment a typically stressed life out of touch with nature but with the opportunity to make a lot of money in the long term after many years of work.

Lately I've been thinking of have a sincere talk with my husband about letting him go so that he could find that 'spiritual' person within the WBTS with whom to climb their 'corporate ladder' and be happily ever after in JW-land.
There you have it. That's what I've been toying with in my mind for the past couple of days.
DY - I'll miss him terribly. I love him more than I've ever loved anyone ever.

How are your marriages fairing after leaving?
by 24k injust a little bit about myself before you answer:
i was raised a jehovah's witness by my mother, who got "the truth" by studying with inlaws who were already members.
my father had been disfellewshipped for joining the army a few years before i was born, and has nevered returned to the organization.

My marriage wouldn't survive. Although we love each other, the WBTS is what's most in common between us.
My husband came out of a tough life and the WBTS made a much better person out of him. He's said in the past that he'd go back to his old ways if he was to leave the religion.
I believe him.

In this last District Assembly they said it loud and clear a few times: "Stop all association with disfellowshipped and disassociated ones, even if they're family".
I wouldn't have believed it myself if I didn't hear it. I thought family was different, but apparently not anymore.
